Since my art is on hold until my finals exams are over, I thought I'd share what I've been working on with you guys. I'll be updating this deviation as I progress on the painting.

Here's a Grey Knight in terminator armour. I've got as far as laying down the flats. Finer details and actual shading and texturing will come later.
I'm trying to get some more consistency in my colouring technique, which has always been very haphazard.

Please do let me know what you honestly think! Critique is very welcome. Rip it to pieces, don't hold back!

don't know if this has already been said or not but the halberd should be glowing and thus the lighting on his lower left leg as well as the halberd itself and shaft needs to be redone. overall very nice though. gread deatail.

p.s. that bolter is far too larger. i refer you to the cover of the grey knights omnibus.

incredible looking rendition of a GK. The proportions are beautiful and I can't wait to see the finished product. Obviously yer gonna add a lot of scribbling when you get into detail mode, but I'd love to see some purity seals whipping about off the right shoulder and halberd to give that upper left quadrant something to chew on. It'll give the pic a nice sense of flow and give you another set of things to work that beautiful lighting on.

go go go ^^

So far, bud, this is lookin great. I just spent the last few minutes reading all the comments (and your responses back), and I'd agree that your pose is generic and the lighting overused. That doesn't mean it's not effective and good though. My critique would be about his sword. Something about it is irritating the shit out of me. I think it's the angle? The way his body and hand look, it makes it out so that his sword would also follow that angle and perspective, rather than the close to perfect side view that we have going on right now. Also, is its handle broken? I'm very confused on the split from the handle-looking thing to the actual shaft/blade.

But that's me nit-picking because you said you wanted critiques.

The lighting I can still do something about at this stage- it'll just be a simple case of paint-bucketing some of the flats. The pose still bothers me... I might just add a few more Grey knights into the scene to make it more engaging, because at the moment other than the oodles of detail I'm planning on pouring into this, there's little to grab the viewer's attention.
His halberd looks wrong because it isn't finished yet. I'm not yet 100% sure about the position of his right arm, so going into more detail on the weapon that it holds at this stage would just waste time if I decide to change my mind about it later on.
I always appreciate you critique dude. You seem to spot things that nobody else notices, and are not afraid to speak your mind :)
