This one started off as a speedpaint.. then I got carried away. It was a nice colouring excercise though.. it was done on no more than 2 layers for most of the time. I haven't been too adventurous with the colour palette here.. it's very similar to my Eva's.. but what the hell XDD
The picture depicts a sea creature of titanic proportions, hunting in the ruins of a submerged human city.
Mankind has long since ceased to exist. The ferocious nuclear war lasted exactly fourteen days, after which there were not enough humans left to fight it. Those that were remaining did not last long - their soft fleshy bodies, exposed to the radiation, lost functionality rapidly. Untold millions of species of plants and animals on land died along with the humans, but in the sea they were protected from the searing blasts and high doses of radiation. In the depths of the oceans they found shelter and warmth, and there they flourished. However even in the abyss, radiation had its stranglehold on life. Small, soft-bodied creatures were wiped out, in favour of larger chitinous life forms. Size was an advantage many species were quick to adopt, and in the warm, radioactive soup evolution was accelerated. Barely a million years later, life on earth has never before been so large, and so varied, and this is just one example of such. A biolumunescent creature whose size mocks even the finest architectural achievements of man.
Ah geez this whole nuclear war thing's been so done.... x.x Oh well any excuse to draw something really big swimming around submerged skyscrapers.

[edit] changed title from "Behemoth" to "leviathan". Friend suggested it, and I think it's a good idea ^^.
